Tasty Fat Loss Recipe for Easy Weight Loss Success

Posted by admin on 28th February 2009

Posted by : Joey Atlas

A frequently asked fat loss related question asked of a lot of Professional Personal Trainers is, “So, what foods did you eat yesterday?” or some variation of that common question. It’s a great question because it gives people some insight as to what diet habits one should follow to feel and look their best in their quest for optimal weight and health.

Well, my answer for one of my favorite all around fat burning lunches is:

- 1/2 can ***** peas (garbanzos) [Eden brand in non-BPA lined]

- 3/4 cup fresh chopped baby carrots

- 1 tablespoon of raisins - red or green

- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar or red-wine vinegar

- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

- sea salt & crushed black pepper to taste

I always prefer to choose fresh organic foods when possible and convenient…

How does this easy fat reduction/weight loss recipe burn fat?

- it is under 400 calories (a big difference compared to a lot of other unhealthy foods people choose for breakfast, lunch or dinner)

- it has well-balanced amounts of protein, fiber and healthy high nutrient value carbohydrates (the good ones)

- since this fitness meal is highly unprocessed, the body has to work at breaking down the foods, a great thing for boosting metabolism.

You can even add some garlic powder and/or onion powder to give this simple diet recipe a nice spicy kick. You can actually add almost any spice or herb without adding calories - which only helps to enhance the fat loss value of the recipe. This happens by making you feel satisfied since you ate something quite flavorful and appetizing - unlike many other bland or sodium loaded, packaged diet foods.

Feel free to create your own healthy variation of this tasty fat loss combo - buy using a different type of bean, a different vegetable, different spices or condiments - or a different type of dried fruit.

You really can’t mess this fat loss recipe up. It’s fast, easy and in a healthy way - somewhat addicting. It’s also a great model for creating other simple and appetizing weight loss recipes.

What most people like about this type of recipe is that it only takes about 7 minutes to prepare and you can make extra to refrigerate for the next day.

Another untold benefit of this type of recipe is that your family will even like it - making your life that much easier.

So you really have nothing to lose. The only thing you have to lose is unwanted body fat.

Make your Own Cholesterol Recipes to Reduce Cholesterol

Posted by admin on 28th February 2009

Posted by : Dr John Anne

Although cholesterol has great significance in our body functioning, especially in the area of hormone development, protecting cellular walls or forming nerve sheaths; but too much production of cholesterol certainly leads to experience a wide range of life threatening complications. But only making few changes in our daily recipes, we can actually keep ourselves safe from any hazards. This article focuses on providing its readers an outline for low cholesterol recipes. You can have them in your breakfast table, in lunch time or in dinner.

Actual Cornbread

This is one of the easy-to-prepare low cholesterol recipes that contains absolutely zero cholesterol and zero (0%) saturated fat, whereas it is rich with proteins, fibers, vitamins and minerals. If you like to have it for you in the breakfast, then start your journey with half cup of creamed corn along with one fourth cup of whole wheat flour. Well, you may add salt in whichever quantity your taste permits, but generally speaking, one teaspoon will do everything.

Now mix all of the ingredients in a microwave safe bowl very well. When you find the mixture very smooth, put it in microwave for one minute. You should carefully observe the pattern of color change and also whether it becomes little fluffy. Not necessarily you need to make it very fluffy, but you should be careful that it is not liquefied. The taste is wonderful, and the food is healthy too. It is one of the ideal low cholesterol recipes for you if you have high blood cholesterol or if you are suffering from obesity problem.

Taramasalata

While we are talking about cornbread, we should not restrict ourselves discussing about Taramasalata, a Greek and Turkish dip. It is really very easy to prepare and it will be really tough for you to forget its unbeatable delicious flavor once you dip your cornbread into it.

So let us begin our preparation of Taramasalata, one of the ideal low cholesterol recipes, with 1 medium sized potato, 2 tablespoon of mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon of organic olive oil and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice. You may add salt and pepper according to your taste. Now wash the potato thoroughly. Put it to microwave and keep it there for 5 minutes or less. You may now peel off the potato and keep it in a bowl. Then use a fork to crush it up fully and mix mayonnaise with it. Blend it thoroughly. Mix olive oil with it. Again blend it extremely well. Now mix salt and pepper to your taste. Your very own Taramasalata is ready.

But wait until you garnish it a bit. Put your Taramasalata in a serving plate and place sliced cucumber and red pepper around of it. Still looks something missing? Well, place a mint or cherry on its top, whatever you like most.

This is perfect as a dip with your cornbread and also for raw vegetables. It contains only 1% cholesterol, 7% carbohydrate and 9% dietary fiber. It is also rich in vitamins and minerals. No need to say, if you have your cornbread dipped in Taramasalata, it will definitely help you manage your cholesterol level. Indeed, this is one of the best low cholesterol recipes.

Homemade Wine

When you are sitting on your balcony and watching the greens all around, a glass of wine in hand can certainly be a great addition to style and serenity. If it is made up at your own home with absolute zero cholesterol, rich in protein and carbohydrate with a total fat level less than 13%, it definitely feels like you are holding a piece of vast blue sky within your palm.

So let us start moving to prepare this one of the low cholesterol recipes by combining ¼ ounce of active dry yeast, 4 cups of sugar, and 12 ounces of frozen juice concentrate. You are just free to add any flavor but citrus or thawed according to your preference. Put all the ingredients in a sterilized gallon jug and then add three and half quarts of cold water into it. Shake the jug very frequently so that all the ingredients may blend with each other very nicely. Place a rinsed balloon with small needled hole on the top of the jug. Within a day, the balloon starts to expand and within 6 weeks of span it will be ready to drink.

Celebrate Your Love of Fresh Salsa With This Easy Salsa Recipe

Posted by admin on 28th February 2009

Posted by : Sherry Frewerd

From mild to extra spicy hot, we love our salsa and I’m not referring to the **** Latin dance, but to the popular dip that’s added to everything from nachos to eggs and just about anything in between. People love salsa so much, it is now considered to be more popular than the beloved ketchup even! With this much salsa being consumed, it’s a good thing that the sauce is a healthy and good for you food containing very few calories, no fat and plenty of vitamin C and other nutritious components.

The combining of chilies, tomatoes and spices is thought to have originated with the Incas who apparently loved to add salsa as a condiment to their dishes. Now days, there’s no limit to the types and varieties of salsa to be sampled. Although the most popular, salsa is not just for chips. In fact, how about having a nice fruit salsa for breakfast? Yes, fruit salsa is a delicious treat. Another great salsa alternative is with an avocado or guacamole salsa. Salsa recipes can be roasted or made with uncooked ingredients depending on your tastes and the recipe. There are tons of salsa recipes and the many ways of adding them to food is limited only to the imagination.

Do you think you’d like to try your hand at making your own fresh salsa? Not only is making salsa fun, but the results, if done correctly (and it’s hard to mess these up folks) are delicious. Serve your own fresh salsa with homemade nachos or on a yummy omelet at either breakfast, lunch or dinner. Fruit salsas make great pot luck or brunch additions and go well with both chips, crackers or breads. Obviously, salsa is a versatile treat that can add spice and flavor to just about any plain meal.

Here is my favorite traditional salsa recipe that we make at home; I know you’ll love it too.

Harry’s Easy Salsa at Home

3 Roma tomatoes, chopped

1 medium onion, chopped

Just a little cilantro - Unless you like cilantro a lot, then add more

Pinch of fresh basil

2 cloves garlic

Juice from a whole lime

1 tomatillo, chopped

1 jalapeno pepper with the seeds out - Unless you like it hotter, then leave the seeds in.

Salt and pepper as you like it ;-)

Mix all the ingredients in your food processor and process until finely chopped. Makes about 2 cups of yummy fresh salsa.
